Welcome to the Michigan Ice Racing Association Home Page

Thank you Nancy for 28 years of leading MIRA! We could have never done it without you!

The Michigan Ice Racing Association, Inc. (M.I.R.A.) was formed in 1982 as an organization to promote wheel-to-wheel ice racing. M.I.R.A. provides rules, insurance, and locations for ice races while maintaining a commitment to a clean environment.

Racing on the ice is an excellent way to keep your summer racing skills honed in the off-season. If you would like to be the quickest in the "wet" in your summer racing come play with us in the winter! Many consider racing with MIRA the best hands-on winter "driving school" to be found anywhere.

M.I.R.A. has members located throughout Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois. It can be entry level racing for you, too!

All of our races will be held at Chippewa Lake, located 12 miles East of Big Rapids. We will be starting January 23 and continuing each Saturday and Sunday until warm weather sets in with a possible weekend off on Feb 13-14. Please look in our forum for latest updates.

2008 Rules and Regulations
(Unchanged from 2007) There are NO rule changes for the 2008 MIRA season - other than a STRONG suggestion to use environmentally friendly anti-freeze. Since there is no way to enforce this, it was decided to make it a suggestion. Therefore, the rules and the fees for the 2008 season will remain the same.
